Hoffman History

Hoffman Automotive has been a landmark in Hagerstown since our doors were opened by C.W. Hoffman on Halloween evening in 1925.  In 1973, our founder's son Bud Hoffman, moved the dealership to it's current location.  In the early 1980's the dealership was purchased by Bob Suddith who chose to keep the name and location unchanged.  Mr. Suddith ran Hoffman until his death in 2004.  He built one of the largest independent automotive groups in Maryland and was awarded the Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award in 1997.  Today the tradition of excellence that is Hoffman Automotive is carried on by Mr. Suddith's daughter Jennifer Suddith Stahl.

At Hoffman Automotive, we strive for 100% customer satisfaction.  Whether you are purchasing a vehicle or just coming by for an oil change, every customer is treated with the courtesy, honesty, and respect that is due a member of the Hoffman family.
